These terms govern your use of the BHL web app and our optional text-message program. By using the app, you agree to them.
1. The service
The BHL app supports a pickup-hockey league that plays Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12:00–1:30 PM, at Ice Realm Westminster. It handles signups, rosters, scheduling, scores, and stats.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for the accuracy of the info on your account. The league is geared toward intermediate-to-advanced skaters. Keep your contact details current so roster and scheduling messages reach you.
3. Member conduct
Use the app only for league purposes. Don’t misuse other members’ information, attempt to disrupt the service, or upload content you don’t have the right to share.
4. SMS / text-message terms
Program description
BHL sends league-related text messages to members who opt in — including open-spot offers (e.g., “reply YES to claim a spot”) and game or signup-window reminders. This is a recurring program.
Consent
By providing your mobile number and checking the SMS opt-in box, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from BHL at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of participating in the league.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on games and signup activity.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier.
Help
For help, reply HELP to any message or email commissioner@bhlhockey.com.
Opting out
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. You’ll receive one confirmation, and we won’t send further texts unless you opt back in.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change, and message delivery is not guaranteed.
Your number stays private. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle SMS data.
5. Play & safety
Ice hockey is a physical, contact sport that carries an inherent risk of injury. You participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own equipment and fitness to play.
6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BHL is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app or participation in league activities.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
